Daily Inspiration 3-3-10

"Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you."

-- Arnold Palmer

"Put your heart, mind, intellect, and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success."

-- Swami Sivananda

"If a man is called a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and Earth will pause to say, Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well."

-- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Some people give so little because they are doing something they do not want to do. In this instance, the entire world would benefit from them quitting what they are doing and have them go do something else that they might like.

It is not strength to persevere through a job you hate just so you can pay the bills, it is torture to you and all those who work with you. It is really weakness. It is a weakness because each of us has the power and the opportunity to find something we like to do; that we are talented doing, and strength would be following that path, and weakness would be to fight against it. It is damaging to the individual spirit and the collective spirit.

It is just choice. Each of us has the power to choose. No one chooses for us.

If we created a lifestyle that requires a certain amount of money to maintain, and then we do something we hate to earn the money to maintain that, what good is that? Really. Think about it. I do what I hate to have what I want? Better to do what you love and love what you get.

Of course, the lifestyle may need to change, at least temporarily, but that isn't a big deal. Most say that we only live once. If that is true, why spend it doing what you hate doing? Are the things that you want that important that you sacrifice the rest of your life to have them?

One of the best things that will change a person's position is to do the absolute best you can do in the job you are doing right now while you contemplate and decide on what you really want to do. If you're selling cars, be the best car selling person you can possibly be while you are contemplating being an artist. By giving what you are currently doing the best that is within you, more courage, strength, and expansion is created within you. You become more whereas doing what you hate can't help but make you less.

There is enough opportunity in this world for every one of us to do what we love to do and we can love to do a great number of things. There is such joy doing what you love to do. It is worth it. You are worth it. The world will thank you.

Here's the formula: Love what you do to do what you love.

I Get To Choose. I Am Responsible For My Choices. Is That Awesome, Or What?

Spread Some Joy Today--Make a list of how others benefit from what you do right now. Learn to love what you do while you contemplate doing more of what you love.
