Daily Inspiration 3-11-10

"Success is often the result of taking a misstep in the right direction."

-- Al Bernstein

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."

-- Bill Bradley

"Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."

-- Winston Churchill

From ambition to activity to failure to persistence to success. That is the way it is done according to hundreds of highly successful people. Failure is a necessary part of the equation. It is no more than a signal to change course. Many times it is a misstep that causes one to go in the direction that creates success. So many products were created by mistake. Successful partnerships were found by mistake. New ways of doing a thing were found by mistake.

Of course, I wouldn't call those mistakes, I would call them inspiration! Many companies and individuals have tried a thing believing in its merits fully and giving their all, only to find that it didn't work at all, but led them to something that did. Was that a mistake? A failure? Or was it success? It just depends on how you want to look at it.

I like Winston Churchill's quote, 'Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.' In a previous Daily Inspiration, I defined enthusiasm as inspiration. So, let us change the quote accordingly, 'Success is going from failure to failure without loss of inspiration.' Makes even more sense that way.

Whatever you want to do, it would be good to change how you define the word failure and mistake. Change the definition to successful attempt which changed direction. That's really what it is.

I Fail All The Time. How Cool Is That? I Am Not A Failure. I Succeed By Failing.

Spread Some Joy Today--Point of view is everything! Is your glass half full or half empty? Is it time to change your viewpoint?
