Daily Inspiration 6-29-11

"Our repeated failures to fully act as we would wish must not
discourage us. It is the sincere intention that is the essential
thing, and this will in time release us from the bondage
of habits which at present seem almost insuperable."

-- Thomas Troward

"When the imagination and willpower are in conflict;
are antagonistic, it is always the imagination which wins,
without any exception."

-- Emile Coue

When I was a little boy, I used to hear that phrase, "try, try again." It's great advice, of course, yet often we may find ourselves missing the mark or not getting up enough steam. Whether it is creating a new habit or unloading an old one, it often takes a certain amount of repetition.

Now, we normally think of that in terms of effort or physical effort, but as the second quote by Emile Coue indicates, it is something much more imaginative that prevails. That might give us pause to think and perhaps change our approach to new projects of desire, and maybe spend more time in imagining, than in doing. . .
