Continuing with my top ten success quotes and ideas. This quote by Albert Schweitzer is wonderful and it feels so true. And, of course, it just makes common sense.
How could anyone feel successful if they are not doing what they love to do? And, if they were able to feel successful doing what they don't like doing, then what would be the point?
It's not about the money, fame, perks or toys. It's about feeling good about what you do, where you are, how you live, what you want. That's pretty simple and basic, isn't it? The more rules we create for success to be in our lives, the less it is in our lives. I only like the definitions that make it so that we all can be successful. Those quotes about determined effort and all that hope and luck and stuff is for the lottery, but not success in my mind. It needs to be easy for each and every one of us, then it makes sense to me. This one is easy. Do what you love, and love what you do. That's a choice we can all make if we want to.
I also love the way Albert says that, "success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success." That is so perfect. I used to think that when I was successful, I would be happy and that never worked out. People are looking for things to change for them so they can be happy, when they have it backward. Be happy, and things will change for you!
