Daily Inspiration 7-9-12

"He who obtains has little.
He who scatters has much."

-- Lao Tzu

I was thinking about abundance and about giving, and it occurred to me that by giving we realize our abundance and it requires abundance from which to give even though we may not actually see it that way.

A lot of times we associate giving with money or the things that money buys, but there are an infinite number of ways to give, all creating more abundance in our lives I think.

Here are just a few ideas of ways to give:

  • We can give our learning. What we know, we can share with others. The gift of learning is a powerful and long range gift. Think of how scattering has a profound effect here.
  • We can give business by referring business to others, recommending a business, giving testimony to one's services, and more. Consider how scattering builds other's business and how many benefit from that.
  • Share your skills and expertise. This is an age old tradition of passing down the trades, but there are so many ways this can be of benefit to many around us.
  • We can give encouragement. There is not much that can be better than encouragement. Sometimes that might be words, other times actions, sometimes just a nod. Encouragement is universally desired and accepted and doesn't cost us a dime. Consider how scattering applies so perfectly here and how far reaching it can be.
  • Give our love. By sharing our love for others we scatter the most powerful thing on the planet.
  • Sharing our passion. There is extreme value in developing passion. It can change lives very quickly and last for a lifetime.

These are great ways to scatter and demonstrate to ourselves and others just how much we have to give (abundance).

"And Others Fell On The Good Soil, And Yielded A Crop, Some A Hundredfold, Some Sixty, And Some Thirty." -- Matthew 13:8, The Bible (NAS)
Spread Some Joy Today--Consider your sharing as a gift, but never a commandment.
