Daily Inspiration 6-18-10

"Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent, but with the inner drive, go much further than people with vastly superior talent."

-- Sophia Loren

As a sales manager for over 30 years, I have seen this quote by Sophia Loren prove to be accurate. Inner drive is far more important than skill, looks, a cool resume, how many smart friends you have on Facebook, or any other thing or combination of things. It is purely a decision and commitment to the challenge.

One of my favorite quotes along this line comes from our 30th President, Calvin Coolidge:

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.

Genius will not;
unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not;
the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

I Can If I Want To Enough, And Try Enough, And Believe Enough.
