At first glance, it may seem that these two quotes don't go very well together, but I think they really do. Sure we can miss the mark--whatever mark we aim at. Aiming high doesn't really take any more energy or expertise than aiming low. It might take a bit more courage, but not that much.
The big difference to me is the willingness to make mistakes.
I know and have known a lot of people who aim low and they have told me in so many words that it is because they don't want to be so disappointed when it doesn't happen they way they want it to. Well, boo hoo! That's a sure fire recipe for failure regardless of the aim.
They don't want to make a mistake, look bad, feel bad, but with the attitude of fear, they attract it anyway. If, on the other hand, we adopt an attitude that there is supposed to be mistakes and that this is all part of the whole process, then fear has little to get hold of, doesn't it?
You know, of course, if you look into history very much at all, that so many mistakes turned out some of the most unique and best products, services, ideas to excel, governments, and the list is endless. Mistakes are really good, not bad. There is nothing to be afraid of in making them either unless you are betting too much on one individual outcome.
Risk is part of the path to reward. Accept the fact that mistakes are not only allowed but encouraged by those who really know success. Let go of the fear of not hitting the mark. Have fun, do your best, continually improve and have even more fun. Matter of fact, have joy! Joy is even more rewarding! Become ecstatic!

Spread Some Joy Today--Make a couple mistakes today. Maybe even be bold enough to do one or two on purpose to demonstrate to the world that you are capable and qualified to be a mistake-maker. Few are willing, you know. You can do it. I know you can. Have some fun with it. Mess it up righteously!
