Daily Inspiration 10-15-13

"No one can make you feel inferior
without your consent."

-- Eleanor Roosevelt

According to Alan Cohen, "who you see outside yourself and what they say and do to you are reflections of who you see inside yourself and what you are saying and doing to yourself."

He goes on to say, "If you are loving and appreciating yourself, you will attract people and events that bless and honor you. If you are judging and demeaning yourself mentally and emotionally, you will attract people who do the same to you."

As you think about that, I'll bet, as I have, that you think this is true in your own life.

Finally, Alan says, "Ultimately no one does anything to you that you are not doing or have not done to yourself. So if you wish to change what is coming to you from others, the place to start is in the domain of what you are giving yourself."

All of that is so much more clear to me than it ever has been. It starts with ourselves, our own thinking, our own emotions and we draw to us that which is likened to itself. There's an old saying: "It takes one to know one." This is true. And it is the source for change too. Change the way we treat and think about ourselves, and the rest of the world will follow suit.
