"Painting is a faith, and it imposes
the duty to disregard public opinion."
-- Vincent Van Gogh
If you're an artist, whether a painter, writer, singer, actor, dancer, athlete or any other, it is more important to hear your own opinion of yourself and how you feel about what you do than from anyone else outside. We have to feel good about ourselves before it means much of anything that others do. We have to hold on to what we think even when others disagree.
But, why should artists get all the public opinion? If you're a person, a human being currently on this planet, your opinion of yourself carries more weight than all the world's opinion should they even have one. It is far more important that we feel good about ourselves and what we are doing and who we are than anything anyone else could possibly think.
No one, not anyone, not even the closest to you know you and what you are and what you go through as well as you know yourself. Take joy in that and celebrate that you are the absolute best judge of what you choose and desire and are.
Keep The Faith!
Spread Some Joy Today--Even when it seems easy to criticize and complain, it is joy to find something shiny instead. The fact that it isn't always easy to see, makes it all the more worthwhile.
