"Happiness is the art
of learning how to get
joy from your substance."
-- Jim Rohn
Jim adds that "Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something you design." It's purely a choice of how to view whatever it is that we are looking at.
Gratitude is a way to joy. It is joy. Being thankful is the same as being in joy. Rabbi Harold Kushner suggests that this may help us get there:
"Can you see the holiness in those things that you take for granted--a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul."
With just a little bit of intention and practice, finding the magic all around us all the time in things we don't even see anymore will create a habit of happiness, a habit of being in joy.
Injoy Your Day! Happy Monday!
Spread Some Joy Today--Remember the clothes that you didn't have to sew together, the toilet paper on the roll, the refrigerator with food in it, the heat and air conditioning at your fingertips, the smile on the face of the person in front of you. Those few things should bring enough joy to spread!
